CECE names Mecalac CEO as new President
17 January 2022

The Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE) has announced Alexandre Marchetta, the CEO of Mecalac Group, as its new President.
Marchetta, who took up the two-year position at the beginning of January, takes over the role from Niklas Nillroth, the Vice President and head of Sustainability & Public Affairs at Volvo Construction Equipment.
CECE said, “Alexandre will continue the long-term strategy of his predecessors to embrace the twin transitions towards a digital and decarbonised economy. CECE will monitor the rollout of the Green Deal proposals and strive to position Europe as a leader of low-impact solutions.”
Speaking of his new role, Marchetta said, “The beginning of my Presidency coincides with France taking over the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
“As the CECE President I will devote particular attention to the issue of economic recovery, one of France’s key priorities while heading the EU.”
According to the association, which represents the interests of construction equipment associations in Europe, Marchetta will build on the work of the organisation’s previous leaders.
With a strong focus helping the industry transition towards both a digital and decarbonised economy, he will also work to drive its members through what is described as a key moment in Europe’s economic recovery from the impact of Covid-19.
“In this area, CECE believes it is time to grasp the market opportunities arising from the EU Recovery Plan and continued investments in the EU built environment,” it said.
“Alexandre will continue the long-term strategy of his predecessors to embrace the twin transitions towards a digital and decarbonised economy. CECE will monitor the rollout of the Green Deal proposals and strive to position Europe as a leader of low-impact solutions.”
Marchetta kicked off his presidency by unveiling the details of CECE’s next major event - the CECE Congress.
Due to take place from the 18 to 20 January, 2023, the CECE Congress will be hosted by the French construction equipment association EVOLIS in Chamonix, France.
