Trecksel takes over as head of Schottel Far East
04 July 2025

Schottel, developer and manufacturer of steerable marine propulsion systems, has appointed Holger Trecksel as managing director of its Schottel Far East subsidiary, effective July1.
Trecksel brings 23 years of experience in the maritime industry to his new role, backed by degrees in naval architecture and business administration. He has held increasingly senior positions across various maritime companies.
“We warmly welcome Holger Trecksel to his new position,” said Roland Schwandt, Deputy CEO of Schottel GmbH. “Holger has demonstrated that he is well-prepared to build on the strong foundation laid by Joachim Schein. We are confident that he will further enhance Schottel’s presence and partnerships in south-east Asia, east Australasia and Oceania.”
Trecksel will take over the role from Joachim Schein, who will now focus his expertise on company engineering and service sectors.
“Over the course of more than 30 years with the company, Joachim has brought energy, expertise, and reliability to every role he has held - whether in Germany, the US or Singapore,” said Roland Schwandt.
“Since joining Schottel Far East in its early days as service manager and later becoming managing director in 2012, Joachim has been instrumental in transforming the company into a respected leader in the regional maritime industry.”
