Gordon Brothers has been tasked with selling the machinery and inventory of Nikola Corp., and said much of the bankrupt manufacturer’s assets have already been sold while sales are pending on other lots. The remaining inventory will be sold via an online auction in August.

The U.S.-based transportation company’s assets includes hydrogen-powered Class 8 trucks, machinery and equipment for fuel cell electric vehicles and the development of hydrogen fueling infrastructure to support zero-emissions trucking, and other finished goods and inventory. Nikola filed for bankruptcy earlier this year.

The remaining equipment will be offered through a public online auction conducted on Bidspotter on August 5 and 6. Gordon Brothers said the auction catalog and photographs are currently being uploaded and will be available to review within the next week.

Gordon Brothers provided this summary of assets. If the category is marked “Subject to Prior Sale,” there is a possibility that these assets will be sold prior to the auction. The negotiations are ongoing.

  • Hydrogen Facility for Advanced Storage Systems Testing Facility (HyFASST)
  • Fixed hydrogen refueling site equipment
  • HYLA mobile assets - “Subject to Prior Sale”
  • Raw material and sub assembly inventory - “Subject to Prior Sale”
  • (103) Fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) semi trucks - “Subject to Prior Sale”
  • (196) Battery electric vehicles (BEV) chassis only – no batteries
  • (9) Functional BEVs semi trucks – recall work completed
  • Over 20 Prototype FCEV semi trucks
  • Fontana service center assets

The assets are located in Coolidge, Ariz., Fontana, Calif., and Ontario, Canada. All equipment must be removed from the facilities by September 8.
