Turntide e-mobility solutions expand into India
28 January 2025
At Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, which took place Jan. 18-21 in New Dehli, electrification solutions provider Turntide Technologies debuted its low- and high-voltage power electronics series and advanced axial flux motors, which will help support India’s growing demand for sustainable transportation.

Turntide said its Gen 4 series of inverters provide a compact, scalable solution for low-voltage applications (48 V to 80 V) and are suited for two- and three-wheelers.
The Gen 5 series of inverters operate at a nominal voltage of 350 VDC and offer up to 400 A peak current. Designed for hybrid and electric vehicles, the company said these inverters combine robust performance with advanced flux vector motor control.
The Gen 6 series is designed for a voltage range of 48 V to 800 V. According to the company, the inverters offer efficiency and reliability for both traction and auxiliary systems and are able to meet the rigorous demands of Indian roads and environmental conditions. Engineered to be compact with high power density and easy implementation, the inverters are designed to seamlessly integrate with existing motors or systems. Advancements in software architecture and power electronics enable enhanced performance in EV and hybrid applications.
Turntide’s axial flux motors offer high torque density and a compact design that allows for easy integration and packaging in applications with space constraints, such as hybrid EVs where the vehicle manufacturer must find space for the electric powertrain while maintaining the space claim for the internal combustion engine components. Engineered in the UK and optimized for local conditions, these motors allow OEMs to deliver hybrid and electric vehicles tailored to Indian consumers’ needs.
“We are proud to be the first in the Indian market to introduce high-voltage axial flux motors that will empower OEMs to rapidly innovate their hybrid and electric vehicle offerings,” said Pradumna Walimbe, managing director of APAC at Turntide Technologies. “Our USP is bringing clients to production faster with our own axial flux motors, power electronics, software and diagnostics suite.”
As part of its commitment to build its Indian supply chain and partnering with local manufacturers, Turntide’s power electronics are currently being manufactured at Kaynes Technology, an end-to-end and IoT solutions-enabled integrated electronics manufacturer based in in Mysuru.
“India is a critical market for us, and our manufacturing collaboration with Kaynes Technology for local power electronics manufacturing reflects our commitment to sustainability and alignment with the ‘Make in India’ initiative,” Walimbe stated. “With the Indian electric mobility ecosystem at a pivotal stage, these products deliver unmatched efficiency and performance, empowering manufacturers to meet evolving consumer demands.”
