Atlas Copco to acquire Dutch compressor distributor
23 September 2024
Atlas Copco has acquired Netherlands-based compressed air distributor Perslucht Wilda. No financial details of the transaction have been disclosed.
Headquartered in the central town of Woudenberg, the company has been the main dealer for Atlas Copco in the Netherlands for 40 years.
As well as offering sales of portable air compressors, generators, light towers and small electric compressors, it also provides rental of a variety of machines, inlcuding diesel-powered compressors and generators.
Founded in 1979, the company employs nine members of staff.
Andrew Walker, business area president Power Technique, said, “The acquisition of Perslucht Wilda provides an excellent opportunity to extend our direct network and presence with aftersales service in the Netherlands.”
The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2024, upon which it will join the service division within the Power Technique Business Area.
Atlas Copco has been on somewhat of an acquisition drive in recent months. In August it acquired New Zealand-based power renter Generator Rental Services (GRS), which came just weeks after its intention to purchase pump specialist Integrated Pump Rental (IPR) in South Africa.
In a seperate announement, the company has appointed Koen Lauwers as president of the Vacuum Technique business area and member of Group Management.
Lauwer, who is currently president for the Semiconductor division within the same business area, will assume the role on January 1. He replaces Geert Follens who will retire at the end of 2024
