AGCO, SDF partner in low-mid hp tractor segment

AGCO Corporation, which designs, manufactures and distributes agricultural machinery and precision ag technology, and SDF, a manufacturer of tractors, harvesters, electric self-driving tractors and diesel engines, announced the signing of a supply agreement for a streamlined low-mid range horsepower tractor portfolio for AGCO’s Massey Ferguson brand.

Beginning mid-year 2025, SDF will produce proprietary tractors for the Massey Ferguson brand rated up to 85 hp for most global markets. The new product range will be offered with various powertrain options to match the needs of customers and markets.

“We are pleased to have reached this agreement, which highlights the efficiency of SDF’s vertically integrated production system in all our facilities,” said Alessandro Maritano, SDF chief commercial officer. “This confirms the value of our in-house expertise and know-how in designing and manufacturing proprietary core components, ensuring excellence and innovation worldwide.”

The Massey Ferguson global distribution network will begin transitioning to the new offerings in mid-2025 in a phased approach across most global regions.

In related news, compact tractor models announced for 2025 at the National Farm Machinery Show, Feb. 12-15, in Louisville, KY, include:

  • The Premium Series (24.8-60.3 hp) offering versatile cab and transmission configurations, enhanced durability and operator-focused upgrades such as deluxe interiors and LED lighting.
  • The Economy Series (24-57.3 hp) offering automotive-style operation, durable frames and ergonomic enhancements like wider operator stations and R-14 tires for adaptability across varied terrains.
  • And the Sub-Compact Series (22.5-24.5 HP) featuring expanded attachment options and a flat operator platform forease of use.
