Aggreko and engine manufacturer INNIO have agreed a “substantial” extension of their partnership to 2031.

Munich-based INNIO will provide a minimum 450MW of engine capacity through its medium-power Jenbacher gas engines in 2027, with access to further agreed capacity through to 2031.

The partnership includes a multi-year service agreement covering Aggreko’s existing INNIO fleet.

The agreement will focus on the Jenbacher Type 4 platform, including the J420 and J424 engines, with the addition of the J620 engine from 2028.

Sunny Thakrar, commercial director of Aggreko, said; “This agreement secures proven technology and capacity to deliver reliable power wherever and whenever our customers need it.”

Dr. Olaf Berlien, president and CEO of INNIO, added; “Global power demand is rising rapidly, while grid constraints are growing. Together with Aggreko, we are delivering reliable, efficient, and sustainable power solutions that help bridge these gaps and keep customers moving.”

INNIO designs, manufactures, and services power systems under its Jenbacher and Waukesha brands, with applications including data centres, microgrids, grid stabilization, industrial energy and gas compression.
