Autonomous mining firm enters Australia

Premium Content

SafeAI, a US-based autonomous mining company, has announced that the company is expanding into Australia.

Australia has one of the world’s largest mining industries, reported to be worth around US$202 billion and accounting for approximately 10% of the country’s economy. Demand for autonomy is growing internationally and SafeAI says that Australia’s mining industry is on the brink of total transformation.

“The mining industry is at the forefront of deploying autonomous and connected technologies — and right now, it’s on the cusp of an autonomous revolution,” says Bibhrajit Halder, founder & CEO at SafeAI. “As one of the largest mining industries in the world, Australia has a tremendous opportunity to set the tone for what the future of the industry can, and should, look like.”

The company also announced three experts in autonomous mining — Grant Moy, Ashley Richardson, and Dwayne Read — were joining its mining division. SafeAI says that the three experts bring decades of industry experience and a proven track record of accomplishment in autonomous mining.
