Battrion and Jagenberg Converting Solution have teamed up to deliver Battrion’s Aligned Graphite technology for lithium-ion battery producers.

The Aligned Graphite tech is said to improve the performance of the negative electrode in a li-ion battery.

The venture will see production of ultra-low resistance negative electrodes using controlled graphite particle orientation. These electrodes support fast recharging times of the li-ion batteries.

German machine manufacturer Jagenberg delivers the equipment used to complete the electrode coating process, which can then be directly integrated into GWh battery production environments. It is important that the process is ready to support scaled-up production as this allows factory owners to start achieving ROIs without additional delay.

Battrion, which is located in Switzerland, said that recharging times for li-ion batteries using the Aligned Graphite tech can be cut by up to 50%.
