Bosch Rexroth, Owasys expand partnership

Bosch Rexroth plans to expand its IoT (Internet of Things) and telematics portfolio for mobile machinery through partnerships, further developing telematics units, remote access and over-the-air updates in collaboration with partner companies. Its first partner in this venture is telematics provider Owasys.

The companies have been working together for more than five years on the development of Open Linux-based platforms used within the BODAS (BOsch Rexroth Digital Application Solutions) ecosystem. Under the expanded partnership, Bosch Rexroth customers will gain access to Owasys’ Linux-based telematics gateways and advanced device management capabilities, while maintaining seamless integration with Bosch Rexroth’s existing digital ecosystem.

The collaboration will also continue to support essential connected-machine capabilities, including remote access, diagnostics and over-the-air (OTA) software updates for Bosch Rexroth electronic control units. This will position both companies to support the next generation of software-defined off-highway vehicles.
