Brandstätt New Chairman Of Tractebel Management Board

Dr. Thomas Brandstätt was appointed the new chairman of the Management Board at Tractebel Engineering GmbH, an engineering and consulting firm that works on power and gas projects as well as in other market segments.

Brandstätt has been a member of the Management Board at Tractebel Engineering GmbH, formerly Lahmeyer, since 2017. He was responsible for strategy and mergers & acquisitions as well as for the Energy business line. Before joining Tractebel he headed the international business for HOCHTIEF Solutions and was vice president of Bilfinger Industrial Services in the US.

He graduated from the Technical University (TU) Kaiserslautern as a Business Engineer (Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration). After various positions at TU Kaiserslautern and as a business consultant, he joined HOCHTIEF and accompanied the group in the transformation to a construction services provider. He managed various company acquisitions and their integration in the group. Amongst various positions he headed the international business for HOCHTIEF Solutions from 2007 onwards.

In 2011, he moved to Bilfinger and developed the growth strategy for North America, integrated the company’s acquisition in North Dakota, and was responsible for setting up the US organisation. Prior to joining Tractebel, he worked as vice president of Bilfinger Industrial Services in Texas. He has extensiveinternational experience in engineering, plant construction, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), as well as strategic development.

The position of Chairman of the Management Board of Tractebel Engineering GmbH is one that Brandstätt takes over from Martin Seeger, who left the company Dec. 31 to take up new challenges. Along with Brandstätt, Michael Stephan is also a member of the Management Board at Tractebel Germany.

“Our aim is to develop new business models in close cooperation within the Tractebel Group in order to meet the changing requirements of the international markets as well as those of our parent company ENGIE,” Brandstätt said. “As one of the leading drivers of the energy transition worldwide, we develop engineering services for sustainable technologies in accordance with our strategy Zero-Carbon as a Service.”
