Buckeye Power Sales announced it has acquired the assets of the generator sales, service, and rental division of Steiner Electric Co. and is now the Chicago metro area distributor for Kohler’s commercial products, providing generator sales, service and rentals to industrial and commercial customers.

Buckeye Power Sales is now selling Kohler industrial power generation products in the Chicago and northern Indiana areas.

“While we have partnered for decades with many companies in Chicago, we are excited to now have a permanent presence in the region,” said Tom Bohls, president, Buckeye Power Sales. “We take customer service seriously, and our goal is to provide a higher level of consistent service than our competitors. There’s a reason why we continuously earn five-star ratings.”

Buckeye Power Sales new Chicago area location is in Romeoville, Ill., and covers the Chicago metro counties, as well as segments of northern Indiana. The company recently received Kohler’s Industrial Distributor of the Year award for 2020.

“I remember visiting my grandfather at the office as a kid and being interested in all the equipment,” said Bohls. “He would be so proud to see how we’ve grown the company while maintaining our commitment to our customers, our team, and our communities. It’s all about building strong relationships and delivering on our promises every time.”

Founded in 1947 and headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Buckeye Power also maintains retail lawn and garden and ag equipment locations in Columbus, Dayton and Middletown, Ohio, handling equipment from manufacturers such as eXmark, Toro, Stihl, Yanmar, Z-turf, Scag, and Buyers and SnowEx snow plows.

In Columbus, the company also sells, rents and supports construction equipment including Yanmar excavators and wheel loaders, ASV skid-steer and compact track loaders, Toro compact utility loaders and Snorkel aerial lifts.
