Camso Acquires Eurowheel
05 July 2016
In a bid to strengthen its service offering in Europe and increase its wheel manufacturing capacity, Camso announced it has acquired Herenthout, Belgium-based Eurowheel, a supplier of tire presses and small runs of wheels for European distributors as well as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) across Europe. Camso said the acquisition includes Eurowheel’s employees, facility, inventory and equipment. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“This acquisition will allow Camso to produce a greater volume and a wider range of wheels for resilient and press-on tires,” said Gregory Fossey, vice president, EMEA – Aftermarket Division at Camso. “As a niche player in the off-the-road market, Camso aims to provide products and services to OEM and aftermarket clients for special wheels and small order quantities — needs not met by any other company.”
Adding Eurowheel’s manufacturing capacity to that of Camso’s will ensure more flexibility on wheel production and bring shorter lead times for European customers, Camso said, specifically those in Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Germany.
Camso, formerly Camoplast Solideal, is a designer, manufacturer and distributor of off-road tires, wheels, rubber tracks and undercarriage systems for the material handling, construction, agricultural and power sports industries.
