Carbon-free powertrains for mobile machinery
07 August 2019

Dr.-Ing. Markus Müller, senior vice president, Product Development & Technical Customer Support for Deutz AG, will look at the initiatives the German engine manufacturer has taken to reposition itself for a carbon-free future in his presentation at the Diesel Progress Summit.
Deutz has set two complementary strategies towards a CO2-free future in the off-highway industry; the use of alternative fuels in combustion engines and the electrification of the powertrain from hybrid up to full electric drive.

Dr.-Ing. Markus Müller, senior vice president, Product Development & Technical Customer Support, Deutz AG.
Dr.-Ing. Müller’s presentation will cover several issues, including the landscape of the emission regulations impacting the off-highway industry; the use of an ecological approach through sustainable fuels and powertrain electrification; case studies in electrification; and a look at agile development methodology for electrified powertrains.
Deutz AG was one of the first in the engine manufacturing world to make an acquisition in the electrification world with its 2017 purchase of electric drive specialist Torqeedo GmbH. At the time, Deutz said Torqeedo would accelerate the market launch of electric and hybrid drive systems in Deutz’s core segments.
The Summit is on September 30 in Louisville, Kentucky, the day before the ICUEE show. To book your place, visit www.dieselprogresssummit.com
