Case Construction Equipment has introduced a number of updates to its 580SV backhoe loader, aimed at improving fuel efficiency, hydraulic performance and operator comfort.

A new transmission option with Automatic Direct Drive locks the engine to the transmission in third and fourth gears, which Case says reduces losses in the transmission, increasing gradeability and acceleration. It also reduces travel times and fuel use while cutting noise.

Other driveline changes include a brake-enable idle system, allowing operators to maintain speed via the hand throttle and automatically return to idle when the foot brake is applied.

The machine’s hydraulics have been upgraded to deliver higher pressures and flow, producing faster 20% faster dig and load operation cycle times.

Meanwhile, Power Lift, which increases lift capacity at reduced engine speed, and Power Boost, which temporarily raises hydraulic pressure for applications such as breaking hard ground or asphalt are both now offered as standard.

The machine also comes with an integrated telematics module, providing real-time data and remote monitoring for both dealers and customers. The system supports Case’s service packages, including extended warranties and planned maintenance programmes.

Cab revisions feature increased storage and floor space, a heated air-suspension seat, and a Comfort Steering option that reduces the number of turns required for low-speed manoeuvring on site. Technicians also gain easier service access, with a redesigned latch mechanism giving quicker entry to the cooling system.
