CIMAC postponed over COVID

Congress will remain in South Korea

The CIMAC World Congress, an event for the large engine industry scheduled to be held every three years, will be postponed over COVID 19 concerns.

The event, scheduled for June 13-17 in Busan, South Korea, will now be held June 12-16 in the same place.

CIMAC Congress, held every three years, has been postponed over COVID-19 concerns. The event, scheduled for June in Busan, Korea, now will be held June 12-16, 2023 in the same city.

Organizers announced in late 2021 that the show in 2022 was still at risk because of the pandemic, associated travel restrictions and likely requirements for major events.

“We wanted to make it possible for everyone to plan in time and reliably,” said Christoph Rofka of ABB Turbo Systems, who also serves as CIMAC vice president of Communication. “That is why we already now took this decision. We would have loved to have the congress as scheduled, but the situation with COVID-19 is simply too uncertain. Now we have a clear decision, and from now on we will be working for a successful congress in 2023.”

More information is available at the CIMAC website.
