CK Power has announced its acquisition of engine and powertrain service and rebuilding specialist Rocky Mountain Powertrain.

In yet another acquisition, this time one that expands its engine and equipment service capabilities, CK Power announced that it has acquired Rocky Mountain Powertrain LLC (RMPT). No financial details were provided.

Located in the Denver suburb of Commerce City, Colo., RMPT specializes in engine, generator, powertrain and OEM equipment service, refurbishing and rebuilding.

In an online announcement, CK said “this acquisition expands CK Power’s service footprint and brings increased resources and expertise to the CK Power Service and Parts Division. We continue to expand upon our product and services offering to support our current and future loyal customers.”

A family owned business, Rocky Mountain Powertrain was founded in 2008 by Matt Ayriss. His brother Dan Ayriss joined the company in 2015 as operations manager. The company is a full-service engine machine shop for heavy duty diesel engines, servicing engine blocks, crankshafts, connecting rods and cylinder heads. It also provides full diesel engine overhauls.

RMPT also services, repairs and rebuilds a range of powertrain components, including off-highway transmissions, axles and power take-offs. The company said it services major brands including Carraro, Caterpillar, Dana, Cotta, Durst, John Deere and Funk, Twin Disc and ZF.

Rocky Mountain Powertrain also provides servicing and sales for generator sets, including inspection and load bank testing.

Finally, the company is an authorized OEM service center for several manufacturers including Manitou Group (Manitou, Gehl and Mustang), Volvo Penta, Twin Disc, Perkins and Palmer Johnson Power Services.

This latest deal is the second acquisition privately held CK has made this year. On Jan. 8, the St. Louis headquartered company announced its purchase of tracked carrier manufacturer Terramac.
