CM Labs hosts industry leaders for AEM Day in Montreal

CM Labs recently welcomed equipment manufacturing professionals and members of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) to its Montreal headquarters for AEM Day, an afternoon focused on innovation, advocacy and industry collaboration.

CM Labs recently hosted AEM Day at its Montreal headquarters, bringing together manufacturers, policymakers and industry advocates.

The event, co-organized by AEM and CM Labs, featured presentations from both organizations, followed by open discussions on key topics such as workforce development, emerging technologies, policy shifts and cross-border collaboration.

“Bringing AEM members together at our Montreal headquarters allowed us to strengthen connections and exchange ideas that matter to our industry,” said Lisa Barbieri, vice president of marketing & strategic partnerships, CM Labs. “It was a privilege to help create a space where meaningful conversations could take place around workforce development, policy and innovation.”

AEM’s Senior Advisor of Global Public Policy Alex Russ, along with Jean-Michel Laurin of Tactix Government Relations and Public Affairs, provided insight into the association’s current advocacy work. Their session explored how evolving government policies, particularly around infrastructure and trade, are impacting the equipment manufacturing sector in Canada.

Kody Blois, Member of Parliament and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister, also joined virtually for a live Q&A, offering perspective on federal policy priorities and engaging directly with attendees.

The afternoon concluded with a roundtable discussion exploring workforce recruitment, sustainability, infrastructure development, and the importance of continued collaboration between Canadian and U.S. manufacturers. Guests also toured CM Labs’ Sim Yard where they had hands-on access to the company’s latest training technology.
