Deutz grows its PowerTree
09 August 2022
Deutz has received an order for 17 of its new-to-market PowerTree rapid charging stations.
The order comes from KTEG, a manufacturer of specialist construction machinery, which was also one of the pilot customers for the first PowerTree units.
Deutz says the charging station, which is installed in a portable 3m container, is the first of its kind to supply on-site, emission-free energy for electrical applications.
PowerTree provides a charging capacity of up to 150kW, with output voltage of more than 800 volts – enough to potentially recharge construction equipment in as little as 20 minutes.
Dr Markus Müller, chief technology officer at DEUTZ, said, “Power supply infrastructure is key when it comes to using alternative drive systems. The PowerTree from E-Deutz brings electricity to the vehicle. KTEG has joined us in taking a big step closer to climate-neutral mobility.”
Harald Thum, managing director of KTEG, said, “Reducing emissions in the construction sector is an issue for our customers. That’s why we offer electric excavators [8-10t] as well as the PowerTree as a mobile rapid charging station.
“We also ensure that our electric machines are ready for use for a whole day. And what is just as important: they are recharged in the shortest possible time.”
Deutz introduced its E-Deutz programme to deliver electric and hybrid drive systems to the construction industry in 2018. The company says it now ready to industrialise the production of these systems, as demand increases.
