Deutz Suppying Diesel Engines To Sany

18 August 2016

In the second half of this year, German diesel engine specialist Deutz will begin supplying Chinese construction equipment giant Sany with its TCD 7.8 diesel engine. The engines will be used in Sany’s  new SW405 wheel loaders.

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Deutz on our Stage 4 wheel loader for highly regulated markets,” said Chen Guizhi, head of the wheel loader segment at Sany. “The engine specification and modular exhaust aftertreatment is beneficial for us, and we have found working with the Deutz global network to be a very positive experience.”

The engines are certified to meet U.S. EPA Tier 4 final and EU Stage 4 exhaust emissions standards, Deutz said. The standard exhaust aftertreatment system incorporates a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) which the company said will also meet the upcoming EY Stage 5 regulations that come into effect beginning in 2019. They also meet the requirements for more strictly regulated markets such as Switzerland or municipal applications in Germany, Deutz said.

Deutz’s water-cooled, six-cylinder in-line TCD 7.8 engine delivers 160 to 290 kW at 2300 r/min. Deutz said it has a highly compact design and a modular system of optional add-on components that offer the customer greater flexibility and lower installation costs.

“We are delighted to have secured Sany as a customer in the field of construction machinery,” said Michael Wellenzohn, member of the board of management of Deutz AG with responsibility for Sales/Service & Marketing. “Together we are looking ahead to a successful partnership.”
