Develon adds electric mini excavator to portfolio

The new mini excavator offers a battery capacity of 32kWh, which the company describes as the largest in its class. Featuring an enclosed cab, it is also available with a higher battery capacity of 40kWh and the option to include quick-coupler piping for use with attachments.

Depending on the application, the standard 32kWh capacity unit offers an indicative runtime of 8 hours and charging time to 100% of six to ten hours under normal charging (3kW/ kW) and 1.5 hours with fast charging (15kW).

For the 40 kWh unit, the potential working time increases to ten hours depending on the application, with charging to 100% taking 7 to 12 hours (2.5 hours to 80% with fast charging).

According to Develon, the DX23E-7 combines low operational noise with zero emissions, together with the features and performance enhancements that are found on its DX-7 Series family of mini excavators.

It offers better performance than the Develon DX19-7 diesel excavator on which it is based, with a 5% higher lifting capacity, together with other improvements such as better work/travel output and enhanced stability.

The number of periodic maintenance duties is said to be significantly lower in the new electric model. Only hydraulic-related maintenance at 1000-hour intervals is required.

Stephane Dieu, excavator product manager for Europe, commented, “The new DX23E-7 offers great advantages over its diesel counterpart due to less noise and no emissions, as compact equipment, such as mini excavators, has a higher tendency to work in cities and residential areas, where it has proximity to other workers and the public.”

With an operating weight of 2230/2296 kg, the DX23ZE-7 has a maximum digging depth of 2,340 mm, ground reach of 3,940 mm and loading height of up to 2,440 mm.

Retractable tracks allow the excavator to pass through narrow passages and entrances/exits for work in confined spaces or indoor applications, such as demolition and construction.

Telematics for monitoring machine health, location and productivity remotely via an app or website come as standard.
