Develon expands electric excavator range for Europe’s fast-shifting markets

In a press release the OEM acknowledged the relatively small percentage of sales that electric equipment makes up but highlighted regions like the Benelux and Nordic countries where, “Government mandates, regulatory frameworks and public demand in these areas have already driven a significant shift towards electrification.”
The electric models will be from the company’s ‘7 Series’ range. The models will include electric mini excavators, wheeled excavators and crawler excavators.
The expanded electric lineup will be introduced in phases to support a smooth market rollout. The DX160WE-7 electric wheeled excavator and the DX230LCE-7 and DX250LCE-7 electric crawler excavators will be commercially available by the end of this year.
Develon added that its approach to electrification is built on practical innovation but also strategic collaboration and by, “partnering closely with specialized European electric-drive and battery suppliers, ensuring every new model benefits from the latest technological expertise.”
In the most recent Yellow Table, International Construction’s ranking of the world’s biggest OEMs by sales, Develon was ranked 21st.
