Doosan Škoda Power Changes Top Management
29 April 2020
In view of a long-term unfavorable situation in the power industry market, Doosan Heavy Industries (DHI) said it has decided to make changes in the top management of its subsidiary, Doosan Škoda Power.
The company said that Sukjoo Kang replaced long-time General Director Jiří Šmondrk, in his position in April. DHI is planning to restructure and reorganize its subsidiaries around the globe to ensure their future growth, according to Hongook Park, the general director of the Power Service BG division at DHI.
Korean media reports that DHI will dispose of non-essential assets and focus on gas turbine-based power generation and renewable energy-based power generation.
Šmondrk became general director in 2010. Sukjoo Kang also works within the Doosan Group as the CFO at Doosan Babcock and the chairman of the Board of Directors at Doosan Power Systems. Following the changes in the top management at Doosan Škoda Power, a position of Chief Operational Officer (COO) was created, which was assumed by Daniel Procházka.
Doosan Škoda Power supplies steam turbines in the range of performances from 10 to 1200 MW in applications of gas, coal, cogeneration, nuclear and CSP power productions.
