Eaton’s New CNG Hose
28 January 2016

Eaton has launched new high and low pressure hoses for compressed natural gas (CNG) applications. Tested by TÜV Rheinland, Eaton said the new 35NG high pressure hose and low pressure NG-TW hose are among the first to be certified to ANSI NGV 4.2 Class A & D and ANSI NGV 3.1 Class B & C.
Primarily utilized in commercial vehicle applications such as refuse trucks, buses and delivery vehicles, as well as dispensing applications, the 35NG hose incorporates an ultraviolet light (UV) resistant cover, which Eaton said helps it outlast conventional alternatives by 5-to-1. The hose assemblies, which are engineered to dissipate static electricity for safety, also offer low volumetric expansion and are available twin-line designs.
Low pressure NG-TW hose is constructed with a Teflon resin tube, a stainless steel wire braid and a fire retardant cover, making it suitable to withstand underhood temperatures as high as 250° F (121° C), the company said. It is designed to be flexible, with a low permeation rate.
The hose can be teamed with Eaton’s carbon plated steel and 316 stainless steel hose fittings. Terminal end options include ORS, JIC, NPT and tube stub.
