Eliet prepares to launch battery-electric version of EcoCure lawncare machine

The company displayed the diesel-powered ZR WS version of its machine at the International Rental Exhibition (IRE) in Maastricht last week (2-4 June).

The WS unit is a centrifugal spreader that lets operators control the speed of the conveyor and spinner to determine the width of the spread of seeds, according to the company’s managing director Frederic Lietaer.

He added that with global warming making it harder to lay and maintain high-quality lawns, there is an evolving trend for machines of this type.

However, landscaping contractors are generally not willing to commit the capital required to buy one, making it an “ideal” machine for rental.

The EcoCure ZR WS is one of a series of different machine variants that sit on the modular EcoCure platform, built around a chassis with a 13hp hydraulic drive and hydrostatic propulsion.

Others include an inline spreader (ZR DS), while the platform can also be equipped with a hydraulic dumper, or a transport plate.

Lietaer said the next step will be to launch an electric version of the platform in the near future, with 5kW or 7kW versions available. The diesel version was launched in 2025.
