Equip Expo to showcase latest technology
22 July 2025
Drones, robotic mowers, smart irrigation and more available for hands-on testing
The 20205 edition of Equip Exposition will have more than a million square feet of exhibit space and a 30-acre Outdoor Demo Yard loaded with the software, equipment, drones and other new technology that is rapidly changing how landscape contractors work and the ways landscapes and green spaces are maintained.
The event will be held Oct. 21 to 24 at the Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC) in Louisville, Ky.

“Nowhere else can you see all the industry’s technology in one place. The most efficient way to see the industry’s innovations is to come to Equip Exposition, to see the latest smart technologies for lighting, equipment, irrigation, safety and more,” said Kris Kiser, President and CEO of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) which owns the show.
In the Outdoor Demo Yard, OPEI said attendees can get their hands dirty by mowing, mulching, cutting, chopping, digging, driving and more with the latest, most cutting-edge equipment. They can also get behind the wheel and try out the latest four-wheel workhorses on the newly-expanded UTV Test Track which offers a track with mud, rocks and curves.
For Brandon Writt, of Brandon’s Professional Services, the opportunity to try mowers from many manufacturers drew him to the show last year. “We’re looking to innovate the maintenance of grass cutting and improving time capacity. I wanted to come here to look at the opportunities for the technology in auto mowers.”
Inside the KEC, attendees can meet and talk with manufacturers designing and producing outdoor power equipment, drones, landscaping software, and inter-connected technology products that improve how landscaping contracting businesses operate and sell services. Attendees can even fly a drone in the Drone Zone and work toward drone pilot certification while at the show.
“Times are changing. Technology is changing. We want to do things better, more efficiently and spend less resources,” said Alexander “Lex” Allen, with Pacific Federal Management, who traveled from Guam to attend the 2024 edition of show.
The show organizers said Equip Expo is the fith largest trade show in the U.S. and that it drew more than 28,500 contractors, dealers and manufacturers last year.
