Euromot Urges European Commission To Adopt Stage 5 Regs

11 July 2016

In response to the recent approval of Stage 5 emissions regulations by the European Parliament, the European Association of Internal Combustion Engine Manufacturers (Euromot) urged the European Commission to adopt the legislation by the end of the year so that original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) could plan for compliance.

“While manufacturers can now move forward with certainty on the limit values and introduction dates that must be achieved, Euromot notes that the timely publication of the complementary commission-supplementing legislation is essential in order for manufacturers to know the full details of the engine type approval requirements with which they will need to comply to be able to supply Stage 5 engines,” the association said. “Euromot urges the commission to take all necessary steps to adopt this supplementing legislation by the Dec. 31, 2016 deadline endorsed by the co-legislators.”
