Federal Signal To Buy Joe Johnson Equipment
05 April 2016
Federal Signal Corp.’s Environmental Solutions Group has announced its intent to acquire Joe Johnson Equipment (JJE), a Canadian-based distributor of maintenance equipment for municipal and industrial markets. The transaction, for which no financial details were provided, is expected to close by the end of the second quarter of 2016.
Under the terms of the acquisition, JJE will operate as part of Federal Signal’s Environmental Solutions Group, which provides street sweepers, industrial vacuum trucks, waterblasting equipment, sewer cleaners and vacuum excavators to commercial, municipal and industrial customers.
“This acquisition reflects the Environmental Solutions Group’s commitment to grow across North America, while remaining close to our core,” said Sam Miceli, senior vice president of Federal Signal’s Environmental Solutions Group. “JJE brings a comprehensive platform of product, rental and used equipment offerings that will allow us to expand our product portfolio and better serve our dealer network and customers in both the United States and Canada.”
Joe Johnson Equipment specializes in serving municipalities, municipal contractors and industrial contractors with products that include Elgin Sweeper street sweepers and Vactor sewer cleaners and vacuum trucks from Federal Signal’s Environmental Solutions Group, as well as snow removal and refuse collection equipment. The company also offers rental options, used equipment, parts, service and ancillary equipment.
This announcement comes on the heels of the Environmental Solutions Group’s acquisition of Westech Vac Systems, a supplier of vacuum truck-mounted solutions in Western Canada.
