FederUnacoma reveals winners of Technical Innovations competition

FederUnacoma has announced the winners of the latest Technical Innovations competition. The winners are selected from new tech introductions which will be on show at the EIMA International agricultural machinery trade fair, which will be held in Bologna, Italy, November 10 – 14.

The awards ceremony took place in the Palazzo Re Enzo in Bologna. Winners were selected by an international jury of experts.

A total of 19 winning entries were selected for awards. As with past events, the winners will be showcased in the Quadriportico area of Bologna Fiere over the full five days of the EIMA fair.

A further 35 entries were recognised with the Technical Evolution award, given for improvements to existing products which have already been patented or are in production.

FederUnacoma president Mariateresa Maschio noted that such innovations in agricultural machinery are often invisible as they feature on ‘unassuming devices that nevertheless guarantee a qualitative leap in farming output’.

Winners featured a range of technologies, including AI-based safety systems, digital platforms for remote management of irrigation systems, smart lawnmowers and hybrid power systems.

“The agricultural sector faces highly complex challenges linked to the increase in global food demand and the need to preserve natural resources, mitigate the risks of climate change and prevent soil degradation,” said Simona Rapastella, GM of FederUnacoma.

“The answer to all this lies precisely in the technological potential of the sector and in an event such as EIMA, where innovation is much more than a competitive factor; it is a toll for shaping the future.”
