Ferris shows dozens of new products, programs

New mower blade design shown at Equip Expo saves fuel

Briggs & Stratton’s mower brand Ferris showed more than 25 new products and programs, including compact stand-on mowers, residential zero-turn upgrades, blade innovations and enhanced warranty coverage at Equip Expo in Louisville, Ky.

“Equip Expo gives us the opportunity to demonstrate how Ferris is responding to the needs of dealers, contractors and homeowners,” said Carissa Gingras, Vice President of Marketing, Turf & Consumer and Service at Briggs & Stratton. “This year’s extensive lineup of more than two dozen new products reflects our focus on innovative solutions and real-world performance, from productivity and durability to comfort, serviceability and long-term value.”

For residential buyers, the new 600S and 700S zero-turn mowers get a full-chassis, engine-isolating suspension system designed to reduce the impact of rough terrain and are both supported by a 10-year suspension warranty. The 600S will offer 48-, 52- and 60-in. deck options, while the 700S adds upgraded transaxles, a 9.5 mph mowing speed and a 7-gal. fuel tank.

The patent-pending AeroMax high-efficiency blade, available on select mower models, uses aviation-inspired aerodynamics to mow up to 20% more acres per gallon of fuel, said the company. New maintenance-free spindles are designed to reduce routine service demands, keeping the unit on the job.

Stand-on mowers

Ferris Mowers’ new Z1-P 32-in. compact stand-on mower, available now at select Ferris dealers, is the first of three Z1-P stand-on models the company expects to launch this year.

The new Z1-P gives landscapers a stand-on mower that can fit through gates and maneuver around restrictive landscaping. Despite its compact deck size, the operator platform is wider and more comfortable than comparable units.

For those landscapers looking for Ferris quality in a larger deck size, Ferris said it will be offering 36 in. and 52 in. sizes in the Z1-P stand-on family later this year. The Z1-P lineup also gets a heavy-duty 7-gauge deck.

Designed and built from the ground up, the Z1-P is engineered for ease of operation, service and maintenance. The mower uses tunable rubber dampers on the platform for a smoother ride tailored to the operator.

The company said the 16-in.-wide operator platform provides stability and better control on slopes, while outboard cleated footrests offer added support when needed.

An ergonomically designed dash layout features a one-handed, three-position speed selector, linear control layout, and a magnetic height-of-cut pin.

The Z1-P gets the company’s patent-pending AeroMax blade, as well.

Select units of the new Ferris Z1-P will feature the Briggs & Stratton CXi 25 hp engine with Oil Xtend, engine technology that delivers 250-hour oil maintenance intervals to help landscapers save money and reduce downtime.

The Z1-P gets a four-year or 750-hour limited warranty, whichever occurs first, with unlimited hours during the first two years of ownership.
