Fersa, a Spanish company specializing in high-performance bearings for the automotive, industrial and energy sectors, announced the opening of a new factory in Monterrey, Mexico. The facility is located in the FINSA Apodaca Industrial Park, a strategic industrial area close to the airport and to major logistics connections in the Mexican state of Nuevo León.

The new plant began operations at the end of July 2026 with a tapered roller bearing manufacturing line mainly intended for heavy-duty automotive applications. In its current phase, the plant operates with a single line and an approximate capacity of 500,000 sets per year. By the end of 2026, Fersa is working on incorporation of an additional assembly line for clutch actuators, with an expected capacity of 5,000 units per month.

In 2027, the company plans to add a second manufacturing line with similar characteristics to the current one. This will allow it to reach a total approximate capacity of 1 million sets per year, in addition to the production of clutch actuators.

Fersa currently has a team of around 50 people in Mexico, including the production staff at the new plant and the administrative-commercial and logistics team located in Guadalajara, in the state of Jalisco, which has been part of the group since 2022.

According to Carlos Oehling, president of Fersa, the Monterrey factory will enable the company “to be closer to our customers in North America, gain proximity and reinforce our response capacity in a strategic market for Fersa.” The project represents a new step in the company’s strategy to “move towards a more flexible, competitive and resilient supply chain,” he added.

Fersa said the new factory will reduce dependence on imports from other regions, improve supply continuity and offer a more agile response to the needs of OEM and aftermarket customers in countries such as the United States, Mexico and Canada.
