Finlay introduces Elektro hybrid range in India

The company launched the first two models at the show – a jaw crusher and a cone crusher – initially for India, with selected international markets that permit Tier 3-powered equipment to follow.

Developed and manufactured by Terex India at its Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu, the Elektro hybrid machines combine Finlay’s crushing technology with flexible diesel-electric operation.

Specifically, the Elektro range debuts with the J-1170 Elektro jaw crusher and C-1540 Elektro cone crusher, which are available in the country now.

Both models can operate using mains electricity where a grid connection is available, or via an onboard diesel-powered generator when working in remote locations.

“Customers across India and other Tier 3 markets are increasingly focused on improving productivity and managing operating costs, while also looking for practical ways to reduce fuel consumption and emissions,” said Mohit Kumar, assistant general manager of products, Terex India.

“The Elektro range combines local engineering expertise with the global design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities of Terex.

“The result is a hybrid crushing solution that delivers operating flexibility, a lower cost of ownership and long-term value, while helping customers advance their sustainability goals.”

The J-1170 Elektro jaw crusher incorporates a direct electric-drive Terex single-toggle jaw chamber and heavy-duty vibrating grizzly feeder.

Designed for quarrying, mining, demolition and recycling applications, the machine delivers the productivity expected from the J-1170 platform while helping customers reduce fuel consumption, lower maintenance requirements and improve overall cost per tonne through the benefits of hybrid power, said the company.

Its crushing action is generated by its high-swing jaw design to ensure efficient material entry into the crushing chamber. The machine also features a double-door electrical panel designed for demanding dusty environments and an integrated telematics system for real-time machine performance monitoring.

Meanwhile, the C-1540 Elektro cone crusher pairs the Terex 1000 cone chamber with direct electric drive technology and hydraulic closed side setting adjustment. It is built around the Automax cone crusher, which uses a high-throw design to produce high-quality aggregates.

The C-1540 Elektro is also equipped with automated metal detection and a cone level sensor. Like the J-1170 Elektro, it features a double-door electrical panel to provide protection in dusty conditions and integrated telematics for real-time machine monitoring.

Following this launch, Finlay is planning to introduce additional models in the range.
