17 October 2018

Hipower Systems, the North America subsidiary of Spain’s Himoinsa, has opened a new 515,000 sq. ft. (47,845 m2) manufacturing operation in Olathe, Kan. With a projected capacity of 10,000 units per year, the new Hipower facility will manufacture all of Himoinsa’s product ranges for standby and prime power applications.

This is the company’s third operation in the Kansas City area since establishing a sales office in Lenexa, Kan. in 2004.  In 2009 the company added its first North America assembly line and in 2012 opened a manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 2000 sets per year.

A more complete look at the new Olathe facility will be detailed in a future issue of Diesel Progress and Diesel Progress International.
