FPT Industrial premiered at the Venice Boat Show 2019 (from 18 to 23 June) an hybrid module for recreational crafts, composed of FPT’s N40 E diesel engine and an HM 560 electric propulsion module by Italian manufacturer Transfluid.

FPT’s 3.9-L four-cylinder inline marine diesel delivers up to 186 kW at 2800 r/min and is compliant with the most stringent European emission standards for inland waterways (IWV Stage 5 regulations) for the power ratings of 127, 112, 75, 63 kW at 2800 rpm.

Transfluid’s electric module includes a lithium battery bank to power the electric motor that has an electrical power output of up to 35 kW at 3000 r/min.

The hybrid module is ideal to cruise in electric mode through protected areas or in sensitive marine environments. The diesel mode is intended for safe long-distance navigation, during which the batteries can be recharged.
