Braking systems specialist Knorr-Bremse has completed the sale of its GT Emissions Systems subsidiary to Rcapital Partners, a UK-based private equity fund.

With headquarters in the UK, GT Emissions Systems is a supplier of emission control systems for diesel engines used in on-highway commercial vehicles and off-highway machines.

The Engine Air portfolio of GT Emissions Systems includes such components as exhaust throttle and exhaust gas recirculation valves for diesel engines. These can help engine OEMs to meet regional emissions standards.

Bernd Spies, member of the Knorr-Bremse AG Executive Board responsible for the Commercial Vehicle Systems division, said: “With the sale of GT Emissions Systems, we have now achieved another important milestone, and the company will be able to focus clearly on its own strengths and business under the new ownership of Rcapital Partners.”

Including the sale of GT Emissions Systems, Knorr-Bremse has sold four company investments in the past 12 months.

Under the company’s Boost 2026 program, Knorr-Bremse is looking to streamline its operations to focus on core capabilities. It is reported that the sales so far represent about 60% of the planned sell off.
