Komatsu doubles Canadian parts warehouse capacity

Komatsu has opened a new parts distribution centre in St Albert, Alberta, Canada, to improve parts availability and cut delivery times for dealers.

The 135,000ft² facility in the Edmonton area doubles Komatsu’s previous warehouse capacity in Canada and forms part of its North American logistics network.
Komatsu said the centre will stock a broader range of fast-moving and strategic inventory closer to jobsites, supporting construction, mining and forestry operations across Canada.
The company said the expanded operation will improve delivery across the country, including 24-hour delivery to dealers throughout much of Western Canada.
The facility is said to be integrated with Komatsu’s global planning and warehouse management systems and includes updated warehouse layouts, automation and new equipment designed to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Komatsu said the expansion also increases workforce capacity and positions the Edmonton operation to support future demand from Canada’s construction, mining and forestry sectors.
