Komatsu reveals new digital tool for rigid dump trucks

Premium Content

Komatsu has unveiled an Operator Guidance Monitor specifically designed for rigid dump trucks used in quarry and mining operations.

The digitally operated tool can be either dash-mounted or hand-held with its primary goal to enhance efficiency and reduce production costs for these trucks. The programme’s user-friendly interface allows operators to set essential performance indicators, enabling them to fine-tune operating parameters for the most efficient truck performance possible.

Real-time control and optimization of work are said to become possible for operators, leading to improved skills, higher fuel savings, increased productivity, and enhanced on-site safety. Beyond just setting KPI targets, the monitor offers the additional benefit of remotely acquiring production and event data from each machine, facilitating on-the-spot analysis and enhancing back-office operations.

Denis McGrath, sales director at McHale Plant Sale, Komatsu distributors in Ireland, said: “it will allow customers to set parameters for each work cycle across multiple headings with data available for analysis in real time”.
