London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) has entered into a partnership with Geotab for supply of fleet management systems for its TX taxi and VN5 van models.

LEVC Telematics sends information taken from vehicle systems via the cloud to a customer’s device or desktop. Using the Geotab dashboard, the data can be used to evaluate vehicle performance and operation.

Collected data covers such information as battery charge, mileage, driving style and utilisation. This can either be viewed in real time or as collected data. The telematics package can be used to help reduce energy costs, including the best charging options.

There are also add-on hardware and software solutions to tailor the system for individual business needs.

LEVC is offering 12-months of complimentary access to the Geotab dash, worth £300 per year, with every new LEVC vehicle. The service is then offered on a subscription basis.

The TX taxi, which is the latest in a long line of London ‘black cabs’, offers a zero-emissions electric range of 64 miles and a total range of 318 miles. The TX has space for up to six passengers, including wheelchair users.

Th VN5, which was added to the range in 2020, is based on the TX platform. Using the same eCity range extender powertrain which recharges the battery while on the move, it offers an electric range of 60 miles and a total range of 304 miles.

LEVC is owned by Geely, which also owns such brands as Volvo Cars and Polestar. Both LEVC models are assembled at the company factory in Coventry, UK.
