Logical Acquisition For Briggs & Stratton
12 December 2017
Briggs & Stratton Corp. announced that it has acquired the assets of Ground Logic, Inc. of Lincoln, Neb. No details on the purchase price were provided.
Ground Logic manufactures premium stand-on commercial spreaders and spreader/sprayers for fertilizer and pesticide-herbicide lawn applications on mid- to large-sized residential and commercial properties. The company’s machines utilize mostly Honda gasoline engines and Peerless and Hydro-Gear transmissions.
“This acquisition supports Briggs & Stratton’s strategy to ‘fill out the trailer’ of the commercial lawn and turf professional, with highly-regarded products that are built to stand up to the toughest working demands,” said Harold L. Redman, senior vice president and group president – Turf & Consumer Products, Briggs & Stratton. “We will be able to use our industry-leading global distribution network to accelerate growth and are eager to add these products to our portfolio of outdoor power equipment to help commercial business owners get the job done.”
Briggs & Stratton said it financed the transaction from cash on hand. It expects that the acquisition will not have a material effect on fiscal 2018 earnings or cash flows.
