Logset to show 8H GTE Hybrid at InterForst in Munich

Finnish forestry equipment manufacturer Logset is planning to present its new 8H GTE Hybrid at the upcoming InterForst forestry machine show in Munich, Germany (October 15-18).

This new entry is an eight-wheeled model designed for cutting and lifting operations across forestry harvesting.

The new machine features an AGCO Power 74 LFTN, a 7.4 liter turbodiesel engine which produces 214 kW (291 hp) at 1,800 rpm and 1,280 Nm (944 lb ft) of torque at 1,500 rpm.

This is matched with an electric motor which delivers 97 kW (132 hp) at 1,850 rpm and 500 Nm (369 lb ft) of torque at 1,950 rpm.

The two combine to deliver 311 kW (422 hp) at 1,850 rpm and 1,780 Nm (1,313 lb ft) of torque.

To stop the machine, Logset has included the DeX decelerate assistant, an ‘intelligent’ brake assist system which helps when negotiating steep hills. While maintaining safe forward motion, the DeX also protects the engine from overspeed events, increasing working life.

Logset states that the 8H GTE Hybrid has been designed to support ease of maintenance. All essential components are easily accessible, while the radiator can be cleared of any debris in minutes.

In addition, the cabin of the harvester can move through two directions in response to terrain angles, keeping the operator in the best position to manage the equipment.
