Loxam Group has launched Loxgreen, a low emissions equipment fleet, which will carry a designated logo.

The equipment rental company says Loxgreen represents a new policy to test and purchase “eco-responsible” equipment and vehicles.

The Loxam fleet now has over two hundred low emission items including aerial platforms, lifting platforms, mini excavators, articulated loaders, compressors, lighting poles and vehicles.

Telehandlers, dumpers, compactors and generators will be added to complete the Loxgreen range by the end of 2021.

Its heavy equipment division in France, Loxam TP, also has a hybrid excavator rental fleet of around 15 large 20 to 30 tonne excavators.

Nicolas Ribière, Director, Loxam TP, said the offering cements “our transition to equipment that reduces energy consumption and pollution in general, as part of the renewal and growth of our fleet. It attracts customers with a responsible and pioneering approach. It also allows our customers to discover a new user experience.”

Loxam is training its sales and technical teams about low emission products and upgrading its branches to reduce their ecological footprint, including a contract with EDF, the power company, to supply biomethane for all its depots connected to the natural gas network.

Thierry Lahuppe, Equipment Director, Loxam, said, “We are committed to carrying out our work in a responsible manner, by ultimately favouring equipment that is kinder to the environment, more economical, more efficient, less polluting and less noisy.

“With the gradual integration of this equipment into our entire network, we are taking a further step in terms of our group’s corporate social responsibility.

“As a rental company and a leading international player, Loxam is committed to the fight against climate change and to controlling our carbon footprint, by integrating sustainability criteria into our activities,” said Lahuppe.

“For Loxam, it is also a question of supporting our customers and stakeholders in their commitments in terms of corporate social responsibility,”
