MacQueen Equipment Buys Bell Equipment
01 April 2021
MacQueen Equipment, LLC, a Rotunda Capital Partners portfolio company headquartered in St. Paul, Minn., has acquired Bell Equipment and equipment dealer with locations in Michigan and Ohio. No financial details were provided.
Macqueen said that the combined company will create the largest environmental equipment dealer network in the Midwest, covering a six-state territory consisting of Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin.
Founded in 1951, Bell Equipment will continue to serve contractor and municipal markets in Michigan and Ohio, representing brands such as Elgin street sweepers (Michigan only), Heil waste trucks, Schaefer waste carts, Epoke snow equipment, Titan leaf vacs, SetCom communication tools, and Trackless municipal tractors.
MacQueen Equipment has elected to keep the Bell Equipment name as a signifier of the company’s 70-year legacy in its territories.
“I’m incredibly proud of what my family’s company has accomplished in Michigan and Ohio,” said Jimmy Bell, president of Bell Equipment. “I know that MacQueen Equipment is a good match for the way we do business—the people, the products, and the integrity factor. I feel confident Bell’s employees and customers are in good hands.”
“I have a long history with the Bell family,” said MacQueen CEO Dan Gage, “So this acquisition is a natural fit. We know the business model better than anyone, and we are already seeing impressive synergies between Bell and our MacQueen locations. Merging these two longstanding companies will no doubt result in a better customer experience across our territories.”
