MAN Opens New U.S. Headquarters

10 May 2019

MAN Energy Solutions officially opened its new U.S. headquarters and Gulf Coast service center in Brookshire, Texas, about 30 mi. west of Houston.

The ribbon-cutting was led by Tony Ruegger, managing director of MAN Energy Solutions USA, Wayne Jones OBE, chief sales officer, and Peter Park, chief financial officer, both members of the Executive Board of MAN Energy Solutions SE. On hand were representatives of state, county, and local government, who joined MAN ES in celebrating this accomplishment.

“We’ve served our customers in North America for over 70 years with our wide range of technology solutions and services,” Jones said. “Today, we reinforce our commitment to meet the present and future customers needs by opening our new, expanded US headquarter in Brookshire. This is a significant step towards our ambition to grow our market share in this region.”

The new workshop and office complex combines engine and turbomachinery repair operations, which were formerly located at two different Gulf Coast sites. It serves as the home base for over 140 employees who are also responsible for the provision of technical support and field services to customers in the marine, oil & gas, petrochemical and power generation industries in North America.

“For the first time, all our technical expertise and service competencies for both turbomachinery and reciprocating engines are united under one roof. This new set-up will allow us to be more efficient and provide a broader range of services than before,” Ruegger said. “Our customers will definitely benefit from the added capabilities and the improved equipment of MAN´s new state-of-the-art workshop in Brookshire.”

The new 130 000 sq. ft. facility is the first project built in the Twinwood business park, which is part of a 14 000-acre site that has been proposed for a master-planned community of low-, medium- and high-density residential along with retail, hospitality, higher education and office properties.

Over 100 000 sq. ft. of the new campus are allotted to the service shop, an expansion of nearly 60%. The facility is equipped with technology and machine tools needed for complex repairs, the company said. One of the two new shop bays features a 50-ton crane with a 35-ft hook height, which allows larger pieces of equipment to be handled easily. A new rotor balance stand with a capability up to 100 000 lb. and laser cladding cell are also important features. The new building is not just geared to the needs of the company’s own equipment, but also to similar equipment produced by other manufacturers.
