Manual Transfer Switch
02 August 2017
ASCO Power Technology released its three-position series 300 Manual Transfer Switch (MTS), which provides a means for quickly connecting a portable or temporary generator to a building’s electrical system to provide backup power.
The series 300 MTS can also be used to provide a “backup to the backup” when servicing an off-line engine-generator, the company said.
“The new series 300 MTS helps users comply with the new NEC Article 700.3(F) requirement to provide temporary backup power when servicing standby generators,” said Matthew Schneider, director of Global Product Management. “For some organizations, a permanent generator is cost-prohibitive. Installing a manual transfer switch and a means for connecting a temporary generator can provide a cost effective solution.”
The ASCO series 300 MTS is available in single phase or three-phase models ranging from 150 to 1200 Amps and up to 600 VAC. It meets NFPA 110 standards for Emergency and Standby Power Systems and is UL 1008-listed.
