Global gas engine technology supplier Motortech GmbH has announced it is consolidating manufacturing at its new headquarters facility, which will result of the closure of one of its production sites in Central Europe.

All operational departments and manufacturing facilities are being moved to the company’s new headquarters facility in Celle, Germany, as of June 1. The new site includes 2500 m² of office space and over 6000 m² of production and storage space. The company said the move will provide a solid platform for continued growth and help strengthen Germany as a leading business location over the coming years.

As part of that move, Motortech is stopping all operations at its Charzyno, Poland, facility. That company said that moving all production to Germany allows the business to optimize work, material flows and automation processes, leading to faster production times, while maintaining quality levels.

The company is also introducing the Motortech Excellence Initiative, which will focus on implementing digitalization, automation and lean manufacturing techniques.

“The company has grown significantly over the last few years,” said Managing Director Markus Kruse. “Our production capacities in Hogrevestraße, Celle and at our facility in Poland can no longer support our manufacturing demands.

“Moving our entire production facility and operational teams to the same location gives us a solid platform to deliver our ambitious growth plans. Having our manufacturing and product development teams on the same site will lead to quicker product development times, ensuring the business maintains its position as market leader in the gas engine accessories segment.”

Motorech supplies a broad range of gas engine technologies, including ignition systems, spark plugs, engine controls, sensor systems, air-fuel ratio controls, exhaust aftertreatment systems and other accessories.
