25 April 2017

German company Motortech said it now offers a complete system upgrade for the Waukesha P9390 natural gas engine.
The company, based in Celle, said the advantages from the upgrade include increased reliability and efficiency of the engines, which work in various markets including gas compression and general mechanical drive applications.
Under the system upgrade, Motortech said various new components are added including the company’s MIC4 series ignition controller, stainless steel shielded ignition coils with a diagnostic interface for engine analyzing, high-performance spark plugs and the DetCon20 detonation monitoring system for knock detection and control.
Other features include exhaust and combustion temperature monitoring, precise mixture control with Motortech’s VariFuel2 air/gas mixer and all modules are pre-mounted and wired in optional enclosures for easier installations, the company said.
According to Motortech, the upgrade benefits include quieter engine operation, a delay in the ignition time if knocking is detected which reduces engine damage, cylinder benches can be individually compared and remote access is also possible which leads to lower maintenance costs.
