New AT crane tyre from Bridgestone

Global tyre maker Bridgestone has announced a new one for all terrain mobile cranes. The V-Steel Highway Service 3 (VHS3) is a high speed radial both for on- and off-highway use.

Benefits of the new design are 12 per cent more tyre life, more grip and a lighter casing without losing load capacity, Bridgestone said.

Its compound and sidewall construction are designed to reduce heat buildup and minimise irregular wear. Stability and wear is also improved, on- and off-road, by having wider tread grooves and extended lugs, the company said.

The weight is saved in the belt, bead and shoulder design which also helps improve fuel efficiency. The above comparisons were made by the manufacturer against its previous VHS2 tyre in size 445/95R25 174F.

The new VHS3, replacing the VHS2, is available in size 445/95R25 174F. It is approved by the US Department of Transportation.
