New combined generator-compressor from Rotair

Portable compressor, dumper and breaker manufacturer Rotair Spa has launched a combined compressor-generator.

The MDVN 53 Eco5 – G compressor delivers the same performance as the MDVN 53 Eco5 – which means free air delivery of up to 5,000 l/min (177 cfm) at 7 bar - while simultaneously powering electrical devices up to 8.5 kVA.

Rotair said the unit is designed to optimise space on site, reduce equipment needs, and power electrical devices while roducing compressed air.

The compressor/generator has a three-position selector that enables operators to choose between operating modes: compressor-only, generator-only or combined.

Rotair, which is a brand of ELGi Equipments Ltd, said eliminating the need for separate compressor and generator addressed practical challenges such limited space on vehicles and job sites, as well as management of multiple machines on-site.

For rental applications, it said, the machine offers greater versatility and improved utilisation rates by supporting multiple uses with one unit.

Response to a ‘clear need’

Andrea Tramontana, Rotair’s regional manager coordinator for France, UK, Middle East and Oceania, said; “The MDVN 53 Eco5 – G was developed in response to clear operational needs identified by our customers, particularly in the UK market, where demand for compact and multifunctional solutions is increasing.

“Our unit is particularly suited for road marking and road maintenance, as well as construction, urban works, infrastructure, utilities, mobile job sites and rental applications.

“It has been designed for environments where compressed air and electrical power are required simultaneously in a simple, efficient and practical way.”

Jacopo Incrisse, marketing manager at Rotair, said the integrated generator offered a significant cost advantage compared to purchasing a separate standalone generator; “Because the generator is directly connected to the compressor engine, it is maintenance-free, reducing servicing requirements compared with standalone generator units.”
