New Deutz generator sets for Latin America

Deutz Corp., the Norcross, Ga.-based subsidiary of German power specialist Deutz AG, has launched a new range of generator sets for Latin America.

The new portable Deutz Power Solutions (DPS) diesel gen-sets ranging from 20 to 280 kVa in 60 and 50 Hz configurations and are engineered for harsh and challenging environments and offer long-term durability, a functional layout, and simplified installation and maintenance, the company said.

All of the nine gen-sets are powered by Deutz diesel engines built in Germany. The DPS 25 is driven by the 2.3 L F3M2011; the 3.1 L F4M2011, BF4M2011 and BF4M2011C diesels power the DPS 35, DPS5- and DPS 645 sets; the DPS 110 and DPS 145 gen-sets are driven by 4.8 L BF4M1013EC and BF4M1013SC diesels; 7.2 L BF6M1013EC and BF6M1013G3 engines drive the DPS 145 and DPS 230; and the top of the line DPS 280 uses the TCD2013L064V engine.

Deutz DPS generator sets The DPS gen-sets are available in open or canopied units and are available with ratings of 20 to 280 kVa.

All of the engines drive Stamford brushless, AVR, electronically controlled alternators offering – depending on the model – three-phase or single- and three-phase operation. Gen-set functions are controlled and monitored with Deep Sea control modules. The gen-sets are available as open units or with soundproof, powder coated galvanized steel canopies. All include base-integrated fuel tanks with capacities of 23.7 gal./90 L (DPS 25 through DPS 65), 38 gal./145 L (DPS 110) 73.9 gal./280 L (DPS 145 and DPS 175) or 132 gal./500 L (DPS 230 and DPS 280).

An electronic governor is standard on the DPS 145, DPS 230 and DPS 280 and is optional on the other machines, the company said. Other options include a cold-climate starting kit, an automatic transfer switch and an alternator suitable for dynamic load conditions

The units also offer the benefits of Deutz’s application engineering and service support, either through the company’s authorized distribution partners or Deutz Power Centers.

The gen-sets are suitable for both prime or standby power use and are designed and configured for a wide range of power generation applications, including mining, agriculture and fisheries, healthcare facilities, commercial properties, oil and gas exploration and distribution, remote construction sites and events, telecommunications and utilities.
