New Develon excavators receive European launch

Held at the Háje quarry near Prague in the Czech Republic, Develon’s recent Demo Days demonstrated 25 machines to over 900 attendees, including two new Series 9 smart crawler excavators and the DX140RDM-7 compact demolition excavator.

The four-day event in April presented the DX360LC-9 (37-tonne) and DX400HD-9 (42-tonne) models. Both are built on a ‘next generation’ excavator platform that uses full electro-hydraulic (FEH) technology and integrated artificial intelligence.
The company also showed the new DD100-7 dozer along with the DX160WMH-7 and DX350WMH-7 material handlers.
At 14 tonnes, the new DX140RDM-7 demolition excavator is said to be ideal for working in confined spaces. First seen at Bauma 2025, it offers two configurations: a fixed monolithic high-reach boom or an interchangeable modular boom system.
The monolithic version supports demolition attachments up to 16 meters in height and tools weighing up to 1,450 kg. A hydraulic lock mechanism facilitates ‘seamless’ boom changes, supported by quick-change coupler connections.
Meanwhile, the DX160WMH-7 and DX350WMH-7 material handlers support demanding applications such as recycling, waste management and general industry, delivering the durability, efficiency and performance required for high-intensity operations.
Live demonstrations at the event covered several of Develon’s new safety and productivity features.
The E-Stop system is an intelligent safety technology developed specifically for the excavator market to reduce job-site accidents and protect workers in high-risk environments. The Transparent Bucket 2.0 (TB2.0) visibility system for wheel loaders was also highlighted.
Stephane Dieu, product manager for Develon Excavators in Europe, stated, “E-Stop technology is comparable to emergency braking systems used in the automotive industry, and has already attracted strong attention from operators seeking practical solutions to improve site safety standards.”
The Real-X automation system, developed in partnership with Gravis Robotics, was also on show.
Combining the two companies’ expertise in AI-powered excavation and construction equipment, it represents “a significant step forward in the development of autonomous excavation solutions” according to Develon. The collaboration has already resulted in the delivery of the first system of its kind to a customer in Europe.
Other key partners exhibiting at the event included Leica, Engcon, Trimble, Steelwrist and Strickland.
